Campaign Number 7

In this campaign, you begin your career in the German Wehrmacht in command of the 18th infantry division
during the annexation of Czechoslovakia in 1938. You will then move on through every theatre of war
imaginable until you end your career in Switzerland in 1946.

The campaign has RULES. These Rules are very simple - you are restricted to how many units you may
buy and what kind these may be. You will get information on how many units you may purchase in every
briefing at the beginning of a scenario. Usually you will find the line 'you are not allowed to
purchase any new units'. Of course you can if you like, but that would be cheating.

Now then, to make the campaign still playable if you have losses, I have decided on the following basic rules:
The number of units you are 'allowed' to get as per briefing is the maximum. If you lose a unit,
you may of course purchase a replacement. Prototypes may be kept for one scenario ONLY. After that,
please sell them (unless you sold them right away. I did when I got a Maus!). Generally you may
upgrade your units to whatever you like, there is only one exception and these are infantry units.
You will twice get to command mountain divisions and then your infantry units must be Gebirgsjaeger,
nothing else!
If thats too complicated, just stick to the unit limit!! :-)

Something about this campaign:
This campaign is supposed to historically simulate, but not exactly replicate, the rise and fall of
Blitzkrieg. When you start off, you will slowly learn the art of the courageous dash forward regardless
of flank threats, you will perfect the art of Blitzkrieg during the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941,
where some of the best scenarios I have ever played are fought. Then you will notice a slow but
unstoppable decline of the art as the enemy grows stronger, gets better equipment and can counter
your movements with his own special tactics. There will be a few Blitzkrieg-like scenarios of course -
but you will notice that they become less and less.
The maximum of units you are allowed to buy is 30 of which six are air units. I nearly reached that
limit once (it's probably pretty easy now because prestige has been changed) but I finished the
scenario with twelve units of which two were air units.

Anyway, have fun and enjoy the campaign!!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Update the PG2 game to version 1.02 (available at www.HerrGeneral.de, SERVICE section, updates)

2. After the game update, I recommend to install now the graphics update. The owner of the best
PG2 site on the web, Lasse Jensen, has written a fantastic tool for that purpose.
You'll find it at the TOOLS section of the HERR GENERAL website (www.HerrGeneral.de)
Download the tool "Graphic Updater" and install it. It contains more and better unit icons and flags.
It's compatible with the important custom equipment files, as well as with the original.

3.After unzipping the downloaded campaign arcive, you get 2 folders:

SCENARIO
EQP

The content of the SCENARIO folder have to be copied into the appropriate folder of your PG2 installation path
(e.g.c:\PG2\SCENARIO).
The content of the EQP folder have to be copied in the main directory of your PG2 installation path
(e.g. c:\PG2). It contains the WAFFENKAMMER's latest equipment file.
Updates may be available at www.waffenkammer.com soon.

This new campaign requires the installation of several new maps (NOT included in this *.zip archive) :

1. Alma Ata/Almaty
2. Arnehm
3. England
4. Maleme
5. Berlin
6. Kazan
7. Ulan Ude
8. Adegabia
9. Alexandria
10.El Alamein
11.Bardia
12.Taejon
13.Gibraltar
14.South England
15.Wahington
16.Pusan
17.Seoul
18.Kazansnow
19.Ekaterinburg
20.Khabarovsk
21.Singapore
22.Singapore2
23.Narvik

The maps can be downloaded from Lasse Jensen PG2 BUILDERS PARADISE website (http://w1.1661.telia.com/~u166103891/).
You can also download the maps from Dirk Cremer's HERR GENERAL (www.HerrGeneral.de) site.
If you choose the HERR GENERAL site, go to the TOOLS section and choose PANZER GENERAL 2.

NOTE: Without this new maps, the campaign will NOT work !

Problems:
There may be a problem with scenarios played on the Ekaterinburg map. I am currently hoping that these
will be fixed soon, but let me warn you - please try to make savegames at the end of each scenario
which you don't overwrite until you have progressed at least two scenarios further. In any case make a
savegame at the end of "Operation Walkuere", because the next battle is Sverdlovsk on the
Ekaterinburg map. If this fails, get a TV instead of a BV or V and you'll be sent to the scenario
after Sverdlovsk.

The sound briefings are downloadable seperately at my WAFFENKAMMER website (www.waffenkammer.com),
these must be put into your \sound folder.
If you do not have this folder, it must be created and your PG2.exe file must be patched in order to
listen to them. The "sound patcher" can be found at Lasse Jensen PG2 BUILDERS PARADISE website
(http://w1.1661.telia.com/~u166103891/).
